So, thanks to
_shmoo's suggestion, I've been insomniac this week. I wrote it off to a whole lot of other things - stressing about my dental work, parents and wedding planning, etc. But finally, last night around 2:30 AM, it hit me - I haven't hit things in a while. My body is very used to 5+ times a week on a dojo floor. And I've been stuck in a two week dead zone for karate. My last workout was 22 December 2005. I went with my mother to a Pilates class on 26 December 2005 and ran kata afterward, but since that point, my biggest bout of exercise has been walking to a bar with Brandy after work on Wednesday. And the most hitting of anything I did was the (attempting to be subtle) shin conditioning I did against a tree while waiting for the bus to take me to the dentist. So last night, while I lay awake, I decided I most definitely was taking myself to Raffi's classes in RI today.
I drove down this morning listening first to FNX who was playing good stuff - Depeche Mode's "Fragile", Pearl Jam "Corduroy" - and then, when that went out of range, I put on The Mountain Goats' "Sunset Tree". I really like The Mountain Goats, but in the same way that I really like REM: Despite great song-writing, I can only listen for so long and then I can't stand the lead singer's voice.
In any case, the trip was worthwhile, and I got to hit some stuff in JKD and then we did an hour of empty hand work in kali, and I learned a new piece of an old drill. So all good with exercise, at least in part. I didn't think it was a particularly strenuous class, but I got warmed up and jumped around some, went a few open rounds. Then I came home and took a nap. Hopefully, I'll sleep like a baby tonight.

What do you think of Sunset Tree? I find it unremarkable compared to other albums of theirs I've heard.
Also, that Depeche Mode song is "Precious". You were close though. :)
